Fabulous antique french holy water font benetier with creamy white onyx marble set on a brass plate with a cloisonne enamel cross and border with a cup for the holy water. Above the cup is a handpainted porcelain medaillon of the Madonna della sedia from Raphael with a brass beaded frame around it. It measures 6.75" long and about 4.5" wide. There is a crack in the marble towards the top, but is held in place securely with the cloisonne enamel border. It is a wonderful piece of workmanship dating to the mid 19th century.
