Wonderful and rare English Pratt Ware jar with lid dating to the 1840's. The transfer scene on the lid is wonderful with a large dog with a sailboat in his mouth and a boy reaching out for it in a stream with a castle in the background surrounded by plant life, trees and rocks. The words GOOD DOG can be found on a rock towards the bottom of the transfer scene. The jar measures a little more than 2" high and the bottom measures almost 4.5" across. There are no chips or cracks and there is faint overall crazing. A very rare piece!
