Gorgeous antique silverplate teapot with ornate handle and spout with an acorn and leaf finial on the lid. The spout has beautiful decorative details with engraved leaves and florals. The body and lid has decorative etchings with a blank cartouche in which a family crest can be added. The neck of the body has a decorative etched border and is repeated on the border of the lid. The handle has flared scrolls with two ivory rings. The teapot measures 6.5" high and 10.5" long from end of spout to end of handle. I could only find one little dent to the lid where it opens against the handle. It is marked 5865 & E & Co W Elkington & Co. which dates this to 1861. Just a beautiful teapot with very little wear for its age.
