Beautiful Mason's brown transferware ironstone teapot in the Watteau pattern. The neck has a border of leaves and vines and both sides of the teapot has a lovely country side scene. The spout and lid has various leaves and vines and the top of the finial and down the handle has repeating geometric pattern. The teapot measures 7" high to the top of the finial and 9.5" wide from end of spout to end of handle. It holds 8 cups. There is very faint overall crazing and there are no chips. At the rim of the teapot, each corner has a very tight hairline. I could find no others. The teapot is sound and does not leak. It is marked Mason's Patent Ironstone Watteau England Guarantee Permanent Acid Resisting Colours. It is impressed with the number 24. A beautiful teapot!
