Antique English sterling silver fob medal pin with a center circle and 4 points. The circle has the inscription The St. John Ambulance Association. The back has 342344 Hilda Shaw Registered by St. Johns Gate Clerkenwell. St. Johns Gate is in Clerkenwell, Middlesex, London and was built in 1504 and was originally part of a monastery. It was restored in Victorian times after a fire. It was the headquarters of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Hilda Shaw must have won this reward. It is hallmarked Birmingham 1905 and has the silversmiths, but I cannot make it out. It measures 1.25" long and 1" wide. A wonderful bit of history!
