Very rare German fairing porcelain box of a large bowl or platter filled with fruit on a dresser with a mirror on top of a fireplace dating to the 1880's. The box measures 4" high, 2.25" deep, and 3" wide. There are no chips and there is one little crack on the left side of the fireplace and there is fading of the gold accents. The Germans made these for the Victorians to sell at fairs, hence the name fairing.
