Wonderful antique English cast iron balance scales with graduated brass bell weights. It has a brass scoop and brass round dish that the weights rest on. It is marked Made in England. It is in good working condition. The item being weighed is placed in the scoop and the weights are added to the round dish until the scale balances evenly. The graduated brass weights are 1 lb., 8 oz., 4 oz., 2 oz., 1 oz., 1/2 oz., and 1/4 oz. These precise scales are hard to come by as the British have converted to grams quite a while ago. The scales measure 14" long and 4" wide. The brass could use a good polishing.
