Very nice Italian wooden box made of Olive wood in the shape of books, one large on the bottom, 7 smaller books lined up and marked I through VII, and another large book on the top. The lid has 2 lovely blue birds with a decorative border. The wood has a beautiful patina. Inside the box it is lined in "faux" black alligator. It is missing its key. The box measures about 4.25" high, 6" long, and 4.5" wide. The bottom back left corner has a small split in the wood, but otherwise very sturdy. A one of a kind!
