Fabulous museum quality brown transferware platter/tongue dish by Copeland & Garrett dating this from 1833-1847. The handles and side leaves are in relief and are quite decorative. The transfer pattern is gorgeous with birds on branches, scrolls, passion flowers, vines, geometrics, for the border and a grecian scene in the center with swans, etc. The platter measures 18" long and 12" wide. There are no chips or cracks and the backstamp has the familiar crown with Copeland & Garrett which dates this from 1833-1847. Many of these pieces are displayed in museums. Just farbulous!
